2023-24 Winter Academy ID Days

Futsal is one of the fastest growing sports across the United States. We are pleased to be Birmingham's most experienced year round futsal provider. This Fall, BHM Futsal is hosting Academy ID Days for local youth players of birth year 2016-2006

What is the BHM Futsal Academy?

In Dec 2017, US Youth Futsal Announced the launch of an academy. "The U.S. Youth Futsal Academy Program is intended to be the equivalent of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy," said Soorena Farboodmanesh, the new USYF program's director. "The objective is to produce players of exceptional ability in Futsal and soccer." In January, 2019, US Youth Futsal selected BHM Futsal to join the program. BHM Futsal is currently 1 of 26 clubs participating in the National Academy Program.

Why Winter Futsal Academy?

Player development is our #1 priority at Birmingham Futsal. Serving the player's needs is a requirement of every program we have from beginners to advanced. The Academy program allows players to be challenged at the Regional & National level. Designed to not conflict with youth soccer programs, the Winter Only program picks up the intensity during the break from outdoor. It is a 2 month program with training and games designed to keep player fast and fit. Our games will be within the Birmingham area with an opportunity to travel to USYF Regionals as ell (Charlotte, NC Jan 12-15).

When is it?

Training sessions are Friday afternoons 4:30 0r 5:15 based on age group. Games are rotated between Friday, Saturday, and Sundays when each team has most players available.

What to bring?

Players should bring a water bottle, shin guards, and joy to learn. All sessions will take place on a wood floor so futsal shoes or running shoes should be worn. NO cleats or turfs please.

2011 & Younger - 4:30-6:00pm

2010 & Older - 5:15-6:45pm

**Players will be grouped based on age/ability in each session

Cost

$10 - Players are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible

The cost covers staffing for sessions listed above. We encourage players to attend as many sessions as possible. Please let us know if your player will miss a session.

By my registration for the BHM Futsal leagues (DBA Alabama Sports LLC), academies or camps, I agree that BHM Futsal may use my likeness in photographs and video to be used for publications and presentations to promote the BHM Futsal programs. I understand that there will be no financial remuneration involved and stipulate that the photographic and video reproductions may be used only for BHM Futsal purposes.
